A new connection with Turkey eases and shortens the trip to Istanbul.
The Turkish company Istanbul Maritime Lines (IDO) started ferry services between Istanbul and Burgas from mid-October.
The company will carry out the trips between the central port of Saraiburnu, located on the shores of the Bosphorus in the metropolis of Istanbul, and the port of Burgas, which were performed for the first time in 2019 and later canceled due to Covid, BLITZ reported.
The first course from Istanbul to Burgas will be on October 11, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. from the port of Saraiburnu.
The return course from Burgas to Istanbul will be on October 12, Saturday, at 12:00.
According to the post on IDO’s social media accounts, the travel times for the first week between October 11-14 will be as follows:
Saraiburnu-Burgas: Friday, October 11 – 3:00 p.m., Sunday, October 13 – 5:00 p.m.
Burgas-Saraiburnu: October 12, Saturday – 12:00 p.m., October 14, Monday – 08:00 a.m.
Tickets for the journey, which is expected to last around 5.5 hours, are being sold at prices starting at €29, including taxes.
Founded in 1987 as a subsidiary of the Greater Istanbul Municipality, the IDO company is one of the leaders in the sector in Turkey.
It maintains many ferry lines in the 16 million city of Istanbul, as well as key lines from Istanbul to neighboring Turkish provinces such as Bursa, Yalova, etc.
The company also has numerous routes connecting Turkish coastal resort towns with its Greek islands in the Aegean Sea. It was sold to a private group in 2011.
The company is currently managed by the partnership of Akfen and Bilkent Holding.
