The timing of the protest is not accidental – it will take place at the time when the Budget Committee will consider the draft budget for 2016. Today, the Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Rumiana Bachvarova stated that the paragraphs of the transitional and final provisions should be withdrawn by the Chairman of the Budget Committee – Menda Stoyanova. The budget committee meeting is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. It was made clear at the national police protest that security officials are demanding that paragraphs 9 to 16 be withdrawn.

The police protest on Thursday was organized by the Alliance “Security” trade union in the Ministry of the Interior. According to its chairman Galentin Grozev, the National Union of Fire Fighters and Rescuers “Ogneborets”, the National Union of Civil Administration and the Union of Prison Employees in Bulgaria will also come to the square.
