A new ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ is coming sooner than you think

Earlier this year, mega-producer Jerry Bruckheimer confirmed that two different new men are in the works Pirates of the Caribbean– movies.

If the previous reports are true, one of the films will be a full reboot with a new cast and the other will focus on a female cast, with Margot Robbie in the lead.

All hands on deck
One of the two films, possibly the reboot, was written by Craig Mazin (the last of us) and Ted Elliot (who wrote all the previous books). Jeff Nathanson polished the script.

Bruckheimer also said it’s highly unlikely Johnny Depp at Jack Sparrow will appear in the movies, but he … “he would be there, if it were up to me”.

Franchise ahoy!
World of Reel is now reporting that an as-yet-untitled film in the franchise will begin filming on Saint Vincent in late 2025. It is still unclear which of the two previously announced films.

The franchise has released five films so far, between 2003 and 2017.
