In Volgograd, specialists began running in the first three-section tram of the Nevsky model.
According to the mayor’s office, the train will have to travel about 50 km along the tram tracks of route No. 13 and the ST surface line.
The new three-section Nevsky carriage set off on its first trip around the city on October 21 in the Krasnooktyabrsky district.
Employees of JSC “ElectroTransport Plus” continue to accept the tram, testing all systems. In total, 12 Nevsky model cars will arrive in Volgograd by the end of the year for operation on the ST line.
In total, as part of the investment program, 62 trams of the Lion and Nevsky models were purchased for the needs of Volgograd. The three-section Nevsky model is equipped with two cabins, the doors are located on both sides of the sides. This allows the tram to be driven on lines that are not equipped with turning rings, as well as when the tracks are being repaired. 38 cars were purchased to operate on the light rail line, and 24 units are intended to serve other routes.

Earlier, regional Duma deputy Ruslan Sharifov announced the timing of the launch of the high-speed tram line. According to him, they promise to return the ST to the townspeople in early November. According to the information announced by the mayor’s office, the reconstruction of the ST section has entered the final stage. Currently, work is being completed to modernize the track, contact network, and road crossings.
The new “Lion Cubs” will carry passengers along the popular route No. 10, which connects Dzerzhinsky with the Central District. It is reported that the route will be served by 10 new cars and one reserve. So far, 42 trams have arrived in the city, the rest will arrive before the end of the year.
We previously wrote that the reconstruction of tram tracks within route No. 2 will cost 546 million rubles. This route runs from stop No. 36 school to the Children’s Center, but now it will temporarily change its boundaries, like the rest of the trams. It was here that the first “Lion Cubs” were launched for the first time in our city.
Volgograd received more than 3 billion rubles in credit from a federal organization for reconstruction.
