The Latvian National Symphony has announced that 22-year-old conductor Tarmo Peltokoski will become the new artistic director and musician.
The Finnish maestro began his career at the age of 14, working with conductor Jorm Banolo. In 2017, he made his debut with the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, where he was selected as the group’s first major guest conductor earlier this year.
He was first formed by companies such as Beethovenfest Bonn, Cologne Philharmonie, Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, Musikverein, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Konzerthaus Orchester Berlin and others.
