Berlin. The third round of funding provided for in the Heating Act is starting. Who this affects and how much money you can expect to receive when replacing your heating system.
Anyone who wants to replace their oil or gas heating should act now. From today (Tuesday, August 27, 2024) all Apartment owners and Homeowner apply for government funding to reduce the costs of installing a more climate-friendly heating system. Landlords of single-family homes, companies and municipalities can now also apply for subsidies.
The move is part of the third round of funding for the controversial heating law. Previously, private owners of apartment buildings and owner-occupied single-family homes were already allowed state aid The funding was also already available for homeowners’ associations with central heating, for example. According to the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWK), around 93,000 approvals have been granted so far, including the additional applications.
Heating system replacement: This is how much funding there should be
At least 30 percent of funding is provided, regardless of whether it is a residential or commercial building. Up to 70 percent subsidy is possible – depending on income, speed and implementation of the heating system replacement. For ownerFor those who live in their own property and have an annual taxable income of up to 40,000 euros, an income bonus of 30 percent is provided.

By 2028, there will be a speed bonus of 20 percent for the early replacement of old Gas and oil heating as well as night storage heaters and old biomass heating systems for owner-occupiers.
