A new extract for Véronique Trudel

The song, titled Call me, is the result of a collaboration with Louis-Éric Gagnon, of Val-d’Or. The latter wrote a text that resonated with the woman who made it an intimate folk piece confined to the guitar. The author discusses the winter loneliness and the mental fragility that threatens us all a little, through a person trapped in his house and his head. The subject is very relevant in the context of the current pandemic.

“I want to sing about difficult things like depression. Because that’s where healing can begin. I need it, but I also think that the world needs it to get out of the stigma, ”said the artist who now lives in Nelson, British Columbia, in a statement.

The new song will be available online from April 2 on veroniquetrudel.bandcamp.com and on different music platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, etc. The artist will also give an online concert on March 27, offered by the Center culturel francophone de Vancouver (https://www.lecentreculturel.com/fr/calendrier/detail/veronique-trudel-mat-bergeron-musique-folk/20938).

Her debut album, a five-song EP, was released in May 2020 and generated over 52,000 plays. She plans to release a second album within a year.
