On Sunday, December 1st at the Athlétis room in Ponts-de-Cé, the 8th edition of the Galeries Recyclettes will take place. This event, organized by Iresa (Inter Network of Social and Solidarity Economy in Anjou), brings together nearly 6,500 people and around forty exhibitors each year, offering games, furniture, decoration, household appliances, but also clothing, from recycling, second hand or zero waste.
« It is important to remember: this event helps reduce our environmental impact. We don’t always think about it enough, but a new object or a new piece of clothing involves the extraction, transformation and consumption of new materials, the consumption of natural resources like water, sometimes also human exploitation , and carbon-emitting transport from the other side of the planet. The event demonstrates that it is possible and urgent to move from a linear economy to a circular economy », underlines Judit Borbley, in charge of organizing the Recyclettes Galleries at Iresa.
For this new edition, the “free price” offered at entry will no longer apply. “ This year, Iresa is calling on the generosity of the Galeries Recyclettes community: visitors, funders, etc. to maintain the event. Out of loyalty to its solidarity ideal, Iresa maintains a minimum price of €2, but the public is encouraged, within their means, to contribute more. By paying more than €2, visitors contribute to the sustainability of the event and its accessibility for as many people as possible. », explains Iresa.
Sunday, December 1 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Athlétis hall in Ponts-de-Cé.
