The Medina Volunteers were once hard at work on the ground to help the community, this time at the Friendship Center in Bambous. For three afternoons consecutive, at the initiative of the Medine Horizons Foundation, the volunteer employees of Medina, supported by students from Uniciti Education Hub, took turns to give a fresh facelift and reorganize the classrooms of this pre-primary school which welcomes children from vulnerable backgrounds, with a view to to create a new space that can accommodate an additional classroom.
“Mutual aid and solidarity are more essential than ever in our society. Thanks to the efforts of Medine through its foundation, but above all to the efforts that I salute the employees of the group, students of Uniciti Education Hub and teachers of the school, in a few days we have succeeded in completely transforming this space and find solutions so that the nursery school can accommodate more children at the start of the next school year ”, asserted Céline Guillot Sestier, Head of Group Communications and CSR de Medine.
This initiative was also an opportunity to make parents aware of the importance of education, but also to educate them benefit from basic training in the creation of vegetable gardens and the maintenance of plants given to this occasion by the Medine Horizons Foundation.
To create a reading corner
Supported for 11 years by the Medine Horizons Foundation, the Friendship Center is an NGO that provides nursery school and nursery school service for over 30 years to families at Cité La Ferme in Bambous. With the recent change in the national curriculum for schools, the Friendship Center needed to find a space allowing it to welcome a new class of students at the start of the January school year, all by continuing to take care of those who will not pass primary school until June.

Very motivated, it is said, the Medine Volunteers, made up of volunteer employees from Medina, teachers of the school and Uniciti Education Hub students, from Middlesex University and the University of Paris II Panthéon Assas, got down to the task of thoroughly cleaning the classrooms, repainting the walls, cleaning the yard, rearrange the flower beds with new plants and sort, tidy up and develop spaces dedicated to children.
Brooms, mops, towels, rakes and other brushes in hand, the employees went above and beyond to to improve and enhance the two classrooms of the pre-primary school, as well as a former storage room, transformed into a classroom and reading corner, to accommodate more children next school year.
Their objective ; create an attractive environment for learning and contribute to the success and well-being of the children who attend this center on a daily basis.
Moment of solidarity and sharing
About twenty parents were also invited to a small training given by the agronomist of Medina on the basic principles of agriculture. A few seedlings of giraumon and watermelon were planted in the courtyard of the center by the volunteers so that the harvests could be served to the children for tasty, healthy snacks. The parents also left each with seedlings of giraumon and watermelon in order to plant them in their yard.
A microwave oven and two fans were also donated to the Friendship Center by the Medine Horizons Foundation.
