A new case of infection is linked to a party

In the last 24 hours, a new case of infection has been registered in the cabin municipality of Hemsedal. The case is related to the private parties in the municipality last weekend, writes Hallingdølen.

27 people are quarantined on Saturday, and their close contacts in the waiting quarantine.

Difficult infection tracking

It was last weekend that several private parties were held among people from other municipalities, the newspaper writes. It turned out that they had an infection with them.

But the work of tracing infection was everything else a single.

– Our traces of infection were met with unkind attitudes. Some do not answer the phone. Others give directly misleading and untrue information. A relatively young woman, who works as a trace of infection, received a proper rinsing bucket from a well-adult man, who should know better, Hemsedal mayor Pål Rørby (Sp) told Dagbladet on Thursday.

A total of eleven people have so far been confirmed infected after the private parties.

GREENLAND: Grenland currently has a high infection pressure, and as a result of this, the government has today introduced stricter measures in the area.

Not cooperative

A municipality like Hemsedal has many guests from other municipalities throughout the ski season. After each weekend, it often takes a few days before the infection is confirmed.

Only on Wednesday evening was Hemsedal informed of the cases of infection. All those involved came from different municipalities in central Eastern Norway.

In many larger municipalities, the infection tracers do not have the capacity to work further back than 48 hours. Thus, the traces of infection in Hemsedal had to start the detective work themselves.

But the well-adult gang was anything but cooperative, according to the mayor.

– Fortunately, it is very rare that we experience something like this. But when we do, I have to say. These are adults who should know better. When the traces of infection are deliberately prevented in this way, it also takes an unnecessarily long time, Rørby said.

Set crisis staff

When the infection became known on Wednesday night, the municipality set up emergency staff, led by the mayor.

The municipality lacked an overview of where the people had been and how large this outbreak could be.

Only after Hemsedal received assistance from infection tracers in the infected municipalities’ home municipalities did more people understand the seriousness and become more compliant. It was not until Thursday that Hemsedal received an overview of the extent of the infection.
