Here. It’s finish. The 6th and final episode of Falcon and the Winter Soldier is now available on Disney+. The adventures of Sam (Anthony Mackie) & Bucky (Sebastian Stan) came to an end (for this time) in New York City, as the Flag Smashers, led by Karli Morgenthau (played by actress Erin Kellyman), attempted to put a end to their plan. What should we remember from this Marvel Originals series for the American platform? What leads have been kindly brought up for the MCU’s sequel? We take stock … but watch out for SPOILERS if you haven’t yet seen the end of the fiction!
Don’t call him Falcon anymore … but Captain America?
We expected it and here it is! In his new technological armor offered by Wakanda, Sam Wilson agrees to take on a new role he refused to take: to become Captain America ! Moreover, at the end of the series, it is renamed Captain America and the Winter Soldier. The things are now clear and posed: it is under the star spangled banner that the ex-Falcon will fight against the crime. But Sam intends to fight with his own intentions and values. It is out of the question to become a pale copy of the late Steve Rogers (Chris Evans). We can not wait to find him in the future of the MCU (the Marvel Cinematic Universe).
Will Sharon Carter return to the MCU?
Some saw it coming, others didn’t … But yes, Sharon Carter (played by Emily VanCamp) was playing a double game well and was indeed the Power Broker, the grand master of the Forbidden City of Madripoor. The ex-agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. stipulated that she wanted to cleanse her honor so that she could return to American soil … but her intentions were actually not so good. We discover in the post-credits scene of episode 6 that Sharon is pardoned by a Senator. She can now return to live in the United States and even resume her activities in S.H.I.E.L.D. Only, we understand that she intends to take advantage of the situation to continue her dirty activities in the shadows. Despite the loss of her super-soldier serums, Sharon does not seem too worried since she knows that she will have access to the data and materials of the S.H.I.E.L.D. to commit his next misdeeds. We will therefore find her soon in the MCU, on the dark side of the force.
Who killed the three Flag Smashers captured by the police?
Captured by our heroes, the last Flag-Smashers were to be taken to the Raft, the ultra-secure prison located in the open sea of the Marvel universe. It was without counting on Zemo who behind bars ordered the death of these. The Baron called in his butler to finish the job and he only had to trap a van in order to detonate the Super Soldiers. Bye !
Could Zemo come back?
Yes or no ? We would obviously like to see the character played by Daniel Brühl again. But remember that he is locked in the Raft, the most secure prison in the world. However, as we know, a lock never scared the Baron. So could he once again escape and come and put a spade in the wheels of superheroes? Likely…
What is Valentina De Fontaine cooking up?
It was the surprise appearance of episode 5! Actress Julia Louis-Dreyfus plays the mysterious Valentina De Fontaine, who in the comics is a double agent with a suspicious past. Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D., she collaborates with Nick Fury on several big deals. It is notably mentioned in the ark Secret Invasion… which will soon be adapted to the screen in the series of the same name. Also, rumors are already saying that Valentina could form in the future the group of Thunderbolts, a team of “superheroes” who recruit mainly villains who have more or less repented. In the comic books, Yelena Belova (whom you will discover in the film Black Widow), the Green Goblin, Venom, the Ghost or even Baron Zemo are all members of this organization. In the MCU, Valentina begins by enlisting John Walker (Wyatt Russell) by giving him a costume and a new name US Agent. The first of a future and long list?

Yes ! As you can see, the one who has been nicknamed Fake Captain America by Internet users was hired by Valentina De Fontaine at the end of the first season. The man now calls himself the US Agent and he could well become a member of the Thunderbolts or some other dubious “superhero” team.
