A new brand for Velen-Ramsdorf

GiG-Marketing Velen-Ramsdorf eV would like to advance its branding process. The current schedule and planned measures were among the topics discussed at this year’s general meeting.

MANY. The GiG board, in collaboration with the Coesfeld marketing agency Brands and Friends, is planning a comprehensive workshop to review the current club structure and mission statement. The aim of the project is to strengthen regional identity and promote community in Velen and Ramsdorf, the association says. This is to be achieved through the development of a new brand image, including a new name and logo, as well as through increased use of digital platforms. “The branding and strategy workshop is planned for November 2024, and the establishment of the new brand is to be completed in May 2025,” says the board led by chairman Bodo Ehling.

Lecture on AI

Inspiration for possible marketing activities came from the lecture by Klaas Moltrecht, speaker for innovation and digitization at the Chamber of Industry and Commerce. In his keynote, Moltrecht discussed current developments and the importance of artificial intelligence (AI) for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). According to the Federal Statistical Office, only around ten percent of SMEs in Germany currently use AI solutions, although the potential is enormous. Using concrete examples from the Borken district, Moltrecht showed how companies are already successfully using AI in areas such as financial management, IT security and production processes. In agriculture, too, he explained, AI offers valuable support, for example through automated and AI-based weeding, sowing, fertilizing and harvesting. The Chamber of Industry and Commerce supports companies in implementing such innovations through various offers.

In subsequent practical examples, GiG board member Carsten Wendler presented to those present how companies and associations can use ChatGPT to create social media posts, job advertisements or scripts for video shoots. He also demonstrated how AI can be used to create images.

Choose: The board elections were also on the agenda. The board was unanimously confirmed in its positions. Bodo Ehling remains chairman, Daniela Büld was re-elected as deputy chairwoman, Rita Funke remains managing director, and Friedhelm Bone was confirmed as treasurer.
