After a while, “Ostwind – The Great Hurricane” finally comes to the cinema. This time with even more Ari and an ending that makes hope for a part after all. But is this hope justified?
So far, the “Ostwind” series has not let us down and Gut Kaltenbach has almost become a second home for fans. It felt all the more horrific to receive the message in the teaser for the new film that the series had reached its finale. But lo and behold, suddenly a radiant stallion appears on the horizon and the hope for more is aflame! All because of an Instagram post from the “Ostwind” author and director Lea Schmidbauer:
She writes: “I’m writing a new Ostwind novel. It will appear in October ”. And all like: Yeah! It is then the seventh volume in the series and since the fourth book was not made into a film, would the adaptation be the sixth Ostwind film and Constantin will not withhold it from us, will it?
Will “Ostwind 6” come after the final?
Of course, this is not an automatic mechanism and it is not a sure thing that a new film will come. But the signs are not bad. We got to see the new film before it even opened in theaters and had a really good time with it. “The great hurricane” has an end that one could live with as such, but our imagination was immediately spurred on to imagine what will happen to Ari, who may have found her destiny in this story – it would be exciting to see whether it is expanding it further and perhaps even helping to develop Gut Kaltenbach in this direction.
