A new boast from Maranello: the F80 is the most powerful and fastest Ferrari in history. And it costs nothing – Garáž.cz

The two-seater car with doors that open up impresses at first glance with its unique and very sporty design. Flavio Manzoni is behind the scene, which was based not only on the latest knowledge of aerodynamics, but also on the history of the brand. The headlight solution, for example, was inspired by the Daytona model, while the rear wheel arches were inspired by the famous F40 icon.

Aerodynamic elements draw on Ferrari’s experience in the world of Formula 1, while there is no shortage of active elements. The manufacturer says that the design of the bow can provide a downforce of 1,000 kg at a speed of 250 km/h, while the active rear wing in combination with the diffuser can provide up to 590 kg at the same distance.

But you may be more interested in the driver. Like the previous LaFerrari, the engineers from Maranello started to do electric doping this time as well (it is again a full-hybrid charged only by driving). This time, however, without a twelve-cylinder.

The heart of the hybrid system is a three-liter forked six-cylinder (with an electric turbocharger), which alone produces 900 horsepower. It is supported by three electric motors: two are found at the front axle (together they provide 286 hp), the third one with an output of 80 hp is located at the rear. All are developed by Ferrari itself.

The combined output of the entire hybrid system reaches an incredible 1,200 horsepower, making the F80 the most powerful road car in the brand’s history.

Despite the relatively complex powertrain, the Ferrari F80 weighs only 1,525 kg (as usual it is a dry weight, with fluids and the driver you are at least 150 kg higher) , so it offers amazing dynamics. It accelerates from standstill to 100 km/h in 2.15 seconds, 0 to 200 km/h in 5.75 seconds and accelerates to 350 km/h!

Behind a reasonable weight, of course, we find light and advanced materials, mainly carbon fiber and aluminum used in the construction of the car. The F80 also received a sophisticated adaptive chassis, carbon-ceramic brakes and 20-inch front wheels and 21-inch rear wheels. Customers can choose between Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2s and Pilot Sport Cup 2Rs tires, both measuring 285/30 at the front and 345/30 at the rear.

An interesting feature is the new Boost Optimization function, which the driver activates in the Performance and Qualification driving modes. It is intended only for tours, because it remembers which parts of the tour the driver may have a short-term increase in performance (increase). For example, on a long straight distance, it will add some extra power.

Ferrari plans to build only 799 examples, production will begin at the end of next year and will last until 2027. The price, of course, depending on the brand, technology and capabilities of the car, starts at 3.6 million euro, which is about 90.9 million crowns.

Of course, a comparison with the new (also hybrid) is offered. MacLaren W1which sends its 1000 horses (but weighs almost two meters less) to the rear wheels only and costs 30 million less.
