The state capital Düsseldorf, as the owner of the “Rhine Terrace” at Joseph-Beuys-Ufer 33, will soon have a new tenant: From January 1, 2025, replacement launched the legendary and iconic Rhine Terrace Düsseldorf under the new management of D.LIVE. The aim is to further develop the Rheinterrasse so that it continues to shine as a first-class event venue outside Düsseldorf’s borders in the future.
The listed building was built in the 1920s for an art exhibition on the old exhibition grounds and was used as a large restaurant with several cafes, restaurants and meeting rooms. In 1995 part of the building was demolished and the Radschläger Hall was added. The Rhine Terrace has a special appeal to the city because of its nearly 100-year-old history.
Mayor Dr. Stephen Keller: “With a new concept, the Rheinterrasse Düsseldorf is going to be reset. Through its commitment to culture, sports and entertainment in Düsseldorf society, D.LIVE has proven that it can give new life to what already exists. With further development, these are ideal conditions for the long-term and successful operation of the unparalleled Rhine terrace.
In order to increase competitiveness and therefore the use of the center, D.LIVE is planning conceptual and structural changes. The operational management Christian Poschmann, Executive Director of Corporate Events at D.LIVEtake over from 1 January 2025.
“With the reorientation of the Rhine Terrace for a cultural and corporate event scene, we would like to create an expanded and targeted group-based offerings. To achieve this, in the first step we will take care of the constant technical development of the equipment and, at the same time, enter into targeted marketing,” said Michael Brill, Managing Director of D.LIVEand later: “In the past, we have received many requests for events that we have not been able to implement in the existing venues. Therefore the Rheinterrasse is a a great addition to the portfolio to serve this sector.”
