Between July 2021 and January 2022, 300 burglaries were committed mainly in the Loire, but also throughout the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. The network was dismantled by the Lyon and Loire gendarmes.
The network was very well organized. On his board, some 300 burglaries committed in the region, mainly in the Loire, but also in the Rhône, Haute-Loire or even in Haute-Savoie… the entire Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, and even beyond.
The criminals carried out 300 burglaries in six months, an average of 50 thefts per month, almost two per day. Sometimes, according to the gendarmes behind the dragnet, they returned to people’s homes at night while they were sleeping.
The burglars were looking for screens, computers and other multimedia equipment. They also stole jewelry. The loot, estimated at nearly half a million euros, was brought to the back of a bar in Saint-Etienne. The thieves came out with cash.
Tuesday, February 8, the fifty-year-old receiver and the thirty-year-old who managed the organization of the burglaries were arrested. Charged, they were imprisoned. Other people were also arrested. Two of them are free but placed under judicial control.
Those arrested are of Albanian origin. The gendarmes of the Lyon research section and the Loire gendarmerie group succeeded in dismantling the network thanks in particular to the cell called ”Shkoder42”, from the name of the district which is located in the north of Albania. But the investigation is not yet closed.
