This is a major drug trafficking just upgraded to Toulouse after 8 months of investigation. 16 people were arrested. The method of this network: Orders and deliveries were agreed on messaging and applications such as Snapchat.
Great crackdown for the search brigade of the Toulouse-Saint-Michel gendarmerie, which arrested 16 people involved in a large drug trafficking network in the cities of Blagnac, Montgiscard and Toulouse.
The investigation began in April 2021, following the arrest of a drug delivery driver who worked through a sales network using the Snapchat application. Quickly, many more network participants were identified.
Faced with the extent of the trafficking, the organized crime service of the Toulouse prosecutor’s office opened a judicial investigation in October 2021. The trafficking worked with a “classic” outlet, but also with Snapchat and Telegram accounts. The drug from Spain was routinely ordered and delivered through these apps.
The searches carried out at the homes of the interviewees led to the seizure of 1.3 kg of cocaine, 2.8 kg of herbal cannabis, 5 kg of cannabis resin, 285 ecstasy tablets and 31 g of MDMDA.
In addition, the investigators seized 58,691 euros in cash, bank current accounts (containing 69,490 euros) and 8 Mercedes, Harley-Davidson, Opel, Nissan, Citroën, Hyundai brand vehicles, as well as numerous luxury items and clothing originating from the fruits of the traffic, for an amount exceeding 250,000 euros
Most of the interviewees received social benefits, unemployment benefits, RSA, employment bonus, while their lifestyle did not correspond to these incomes. Some of them have already been convicted, others very recently, for drug trafficking.
Four have been placed under judicial control. The other six, however, were presented to a judge of freedoms and pre-trial detention who ordered their placement in pre-trial detention.
The investigation is now continuing under the direction of the investigating judge in order to identify the other perpetrators, co-perpetrators or accomplices of the trafficking and all the beneficiaries.
