A fire broke out in a rented house in Limo, Depok, West Java, killed father and son. Before the fire incident, neighbors had heard the sound of arguing from inside the house.
Head of Operational Control of the Depok City Fire and Rescue Service, Welman Naipospos, said that his party received the news of the fire on Saturday (2/4) at 23.08 WIB. The fire burned a rented house covering an area of 27 square meters on Jalan Mushola Al. Mardhoilah RT 02 RW 08, Meruyung, Limo, Depok
“One rented unit caught fire. Firefighters arrived at the scene at 23.16 WIB. Two people died, Reza Firdaus (father) and Rizki (son),” Welman said in his statement, Sunday (3/4/2022).
Welman said the cause of the fire was suspected to be mosquito coils. Three fire engines were deployed with 7 personnel.
“2 pump units from UPT Cinere, 1 pump unit from UPT Bojongsari,” he continued.
As a result of the fire, the victim’s wife, Nina Handayani, was injured. The motorbike was also scorched in the flames.
“Losses of IDR 27 million, a rented unit and a Honda Beat motorcycle (burned). One person was injured,” he added.
Welman said the fire was put out about 15 minutes later. Firefighters then rescued 3 other people.
“Saved 3 people, two men and 1 woman,” he concluded.
