Once upon a time there was the street of banks in Salerno. Along via Lucio Orofino, the artery that connects Torrione Alto and the area of thegas company” in the lower part of the city, until a few years ago there were branches of three different banking institutions. Now they are no longer there: two counters, those positioned in the lowest part of the characteristic ship-shaped building, have become empty, vacant and almost without a future. The spaces of the bank that looked directly onto the (always very busy) road, however, have recently been “transformed” into the headquarters of an association.
Not far away, a few steps from Forte La Carnale, right at the point where via Marino Freccia meets via Posidonia, there was another bank: also in this case, the premises are deserted and on the glass panes of the doors The classic “for sale” sign appears at the entrance, now yellowed. Four banking institutions disappeared within a decadetherefore, which mark a curious case but not too much (just read the data from the other service on the page, ed.): in Torrione, in one of the most populous neighborhoods of the city of Salerno, there is no longer even a banking institution.
