Fish eye is a very troublesome health problem; As it causes pain while walking on the one hand, it also prevents one from wearing open shoes.
Dr. Christophe Lebisch explained that the fish’s eye is a keratinized skin growth characterized by being thick and inward looking in the places of the foot, which are under constant pressure, for example when wearing shoes of inappropriate size, according to German News Agency reported.
The German dermatologist added that in simple cases the fish’s eye can be treated with a foot bath that contains drops of tea tree oil, which works to soften the horny skin as well as its anti-bacterial effect. Then the pumice stone is gently used to remove the fish’s eye.
Medicinal plasters can also be used to treat fish’s eyes for two to three days. These plasters contain active substances that have a peeling effect such as lactic acid and salicylic acid.
In no case may a fish’s eye be removed with a sharp object, such as a knife or a pair of scissors.
To prevent fish eye, wear shoes of appropriate size, taking into account changing shoes and not wearing the same shoe every day, in addition to regular foot care with moisturizing creams containing, for example, Aloe Vera.
