A mysterious kidnapping in Lyon: an 11-year-old girl kidnapped, loaded into a van and then released

The facts took place Thursday afternoon in the 9th arrondissement of Lyon.

An 11-year-old girl was near the Jean-de-Verrazane college, located on Place Ferber, when an individual grabbed her by the arm.

He forced her into the back of a gray van. The victim managed to call her mother to tell her that she had been abducted, then did not hear from her for about thirty minutes.

From the back of the van, she couldn’t clearly see the face of the man behind the wheel who was making incoherent remarks.

The driver drove for half an hour, before releasing his victim in Grange-Blanche. During the journey, he did not exert any violence on the granddaughter.

The child was picked up by two teenagers and then heard by the police, alerted by her mother.

Analyzes and investigations, entrusted to the investigators of the Urban Security of the East Division are in progress to identify the van and its driver, whose motivations are still mysterious.
