Bilyana Tomova has passed away – a respected person, media expert and teacher from UNSS. The sad news was announced on Facebook by Diana Andreeva-Popyordanova – director of the Observatory on the Economy of Culture in Bulgaria and teacher at NATFIZ and UNSS in specialties related to the consideration of culture in an economic aspect, transmits Sofia24.bg.
“Our little angel flew away – Bilyanchetto! We had many battles in the last 20 years, but we did not succeed in the hardest one in the last 11 months – the one for life! The best, the most loved person and the sunniest person! The grief is unrepentant and endless is our love, which we will carry in our hearts”, writes Popyordanova.
Bilyana Tomova is a doctor of cultural economics, associate professor of media economics and a researcher in the field of cultural and creative industries. Prof. Tomova is a graduate of the University of National and World Economy, where he is a full-time lecturer in the Department of Media and Public Communications (UNSS).
She specialized in Amsterdam, Moscow, Budapest, etc. She has published numerous articles, studies, monographs and two books: “Art and Market” and “Alternative Mechanisms for Financing Cultural Activities”.
Prof. Tomova is a co-founder of the Observatory on the Economy of Culture in Bulgaria – a leading non-profit organization that conducts an annual study of the economic contribution of the arts, cultural and creative industries in Bulgaria and on whose initiative the “Short Film” program of the National Culture Fund was created “.
On March 28, 2024, Bilyana Tomova received the “Icarus” award for achievements in teaching.
