A motorist deliberately collided with a pedestrian on Monday afternoon in Paris, learned Le Figaro police source. An altercation broke out between a pedestrian and a motorist around 2:50 p.m. on the famous avenue des Champs-Élysées. However, the origin of the dispute between the two men is not yet known. The driver was arrested and the victim transported to hospital with minor ankle and hand injuries, according to a police source.

Several videos posted on social networks show a man interacting in a virulent manner with a motorist stopped near the Louis Vuitton store on the Champs-Élysées. Facing the car starting to move forward, the footage shows the pedestrian kicking the front of the vehicle. The driver then deliberately struck him for several meters, injuring his ankle.
Another video shows the driver backing up and hitting the pedestrian again, this time by hand. Police officers present on the spot then try to stop him. The motorist not getting out of the vehicle, the police broke his window in order to open the door themselves to get him out of the vehicle. The local police station was seized of the investigation, according to our source.
