A security camera in Mexico City captured the moment in which the driver of a gray car with license plate PBV-41-09 blocked the path of a cyclist and then got out to hit her.
According to the images, the accident occurred around 07:25 am as they walked along via Lago Buenos Aires, on the corner with Lago Maracaibo, in the Argentina Antigua district, in the office of Mayor Miguel Hidalgo.
The video shows the car traveling at high speed and crossing into the wrong lane to block the road for a cyclist, who was wearing a helmet with a flashing light to be visible on the road.
After that, the driver gets out of his car, then the one with the bicycle turns and tries to move away in the direction of the opposite sidewalk, however, the attacker reaches him and starts hitting him repeatedly until he reaches him towards the bottom of the vehicle. After a few seconds the motorist gets up and goes to his car. Journalist Carlos Jiménez reported that it all started because the cyclist claimed to have almost run over him, he also said that after the beating the man was left with a broken jaw.

According to data from the Ministry of Mobility of Mexico City (Semovi), from January to September of this year, 1,782 cyclists were injured for traveling on public roads. As for the users of these vehicles who died in the same period, the figure is 24.
The last quarter analysed, from July to September, was the deadliest for bicycle users, as 12 lost their lives. In five of these cases, a cargo truck was involved.
