On the night from Tuesday to Wednesday, a motorist crashed into a traffic light on the N65. The single vehicle accident happened near the intersection with Martinilaan and Bréautélaan in Vught. The driver of the car was injured and taken to hospital by ambulance. Police found several nitrous oxide cylinders in the car.
The disaster caused great destruction. The accident caused extensive damage to the traffic lights. Several traffic lights fell on the road surface and the entire traffic system became non-functional.
Rijkswaterstaat expects that through traffic will be possible on the N65 again at the beginning of the hour on Wednesday morning, although the consequences will be significant. Drivers and cyclists cannot use some traffic lights. Traffic controllers will be deployed for safety.
The N65 will be closed again later
After the evening rush hour, the road will be closed again and damaged traffic lights will be removed. Temporary traffic lights will be replaced. During the repair work, no traffic will be allowed on the N65 towards Den Bosch.
