Almost all copies of the book “A monument is collapsing: the hospital of Baie-Saint-Paul” found buyers when the launch took place just over a year ago at the golf club of Baie-Saint-Paul. Baie-Saint-Paul -Paul.
The book had a circulation of 1000 copies. The authors Alain Anctil-Tremblay, genealogist and history lover and the photographer Donald Lavoie wanted with this book to “stop in time the work of the Little Franciscans of Mary”. It tells the complete history of the building, from its foundation to the moment the last stone fell.
Over the past year they have presented their work to many citizens in different places, including the Pro-Santé community center and the residence of the Builders of Baie-Saint-Paul.
Photographer Donald Lavoie donated $ 3,600 from the profits from the book’s sale to the Baie-Saint-Paul Hospital Foundation. This contribution was paid to the DI-TSA Fund for the sensory garden project. Located next to RAC Racine, this garden was initiated by and for day center clientele with intellectual or physical disabilities and people with autism spectrum disorder.
The authors recall in a press release that several financial partners have allowed them to offer this book, which includes more than 550 photos, at an affordable price.
A copy can still be obtained from the Librairie de Baie-Saint-Paul and from the authors.
