a month later, how is Yuriy’s state of health evolving?

Assaulted by a dozen young people in January, in the 15th arrondissement of Paris, Yuriy has since been released from the hospital. Still in shock from this incredibly violent attack, the 15-year-old still struggles to recount it. Europe 1 met her mother who provides some information about her health.

Almost a month ago, young Yuriy was left for dead on the slab of Beaugrenelle in the 15th arrondissement of Paris, after being beaten up by a gang of young people. According to his family, the boy is doing a little better but remains marked by his aggression. He was released from Necker hospital about ten days ago.

Still recovering, Yuriy is now being followed in a rehabilitation center to recover from his multiple fractures. His mother wants to be reassuring and explains that he is recovering little by little. Besides the physical injuries, the emotional shock was also very intense. The teenager is followed by psychologists and is struggling for the moment to talk about what happened to him. His mother says it is still too early, but she hopes he can soon say more about the events that unfolded on January 15.

Did Yuriy take part in a first brawl?

In the meantime, she insists on the precious support that her son has received from his teammates at the Boulogne football club, students from his college but also stars of PSG and a crowd of anonymous people. She still receives messages of encouragement, written by hand or on social networks.

For their part, the investigators of the judicial police are now certain that Yuriy’s attack was a retaliatory response to a first fight between rival gangs. The question now is whether he was one of them. But his mother is adamant and maintains that her son has never hit anyone. The investigators have still not asked the question directly to the schoolboy: they are waiting for his condition to improve a little before questioning him, with the agreement of the doctors.
