The Ponferrada City Council, together with the Sustainable Tourism and Local Development Chair (UNED), has published a monograph on the Tebaida Berciana, entitled “The Valley of the Hermits.” This book is the result of the research work of Diego Rodríguez Cubero and Jesús Álvarez Courel, with which they have achieved a careful edition that recovers an unknown heritage of Valdueza: its churches and hermitages.
A trip with great cultural and natural value whose historical and artistic values are completely unique. The work has photographs and documents that narrate the lives of its people as well as curious information about the history of these hermitages, pilgrimages, lawsuits and wills of the inhabitants of the valley that allow us to know in depth a heritage forgotten for decades.
In the future, a cultural route will reveal this unique and exciting territory of the Ponferrada municipality.
