According to the Jeongeup Police Station on the 6th, monk A (53), who was the suspected arson, called the police at about 6:35 pm on the 5th and reported that he set fire to Daeungjeon. It is estimated that the fire started around 6:30 pm on this day. It means that about five minutes after the arson, he reported the crime to the police by himself.
After reporting, Mr. A stayed at the scene without escaping. He was arrested and arrested by the police as a current offender. In a police investigation, he admitted to the crime, saying,’The monks who lived together made me feel sorry for drinking and accidentally set fire’.
