Moabi, May 08, 2023 (AGP) – After the stages of Ndindi, Mayumba and Tchibanga, the mission of the High Commission of the Republic, led by the Commissioner General, Michel Essongué, went, last weekend, to the department of Douigny and the district of Mourindi.
The delegation of the High Commission of the Republic stayed in Mourindi, capital of the sub-prefecture of Migamba-Yara and in Moabi, departmental capital of Douigny. The objective is to collect the expectations of local populations, in order to convey them to the President of the Republic, Ali Bongo Ondimba.
The Commissioner General of the Republic, Michel Essongué, transmitted the message of the Gabonese Head of State to the populations of the above-mentioned localities, in his capacity as agent.
These visits fall within the framework of taking into account the concerns of the populations, with a view to setting up mechanisms for implementation and the materialization of justified expectations, in particular those of the hinterland, he added. He specifies.
«We are there, in front of you, to listen to you and to inquire about the needs and difficulties experienced by the populations inside the country. This is the main mission of the High Commission of the Republic, in the department of Douigny “, indicated the general commissioner.
The populations, for their part, expressed concerns related to infrastructure and communication routes, difficulties in accessing water and electricity, health, education, security and NICTs.
The disaster caused by the human-wildlife conflict and unemployment, the main causes of the rural exodus, as well as the high cost of living, were also discussed.
