Tuesday, September 3rd, took place in the garden of the Vigan local hospital, the final clap of the animal mediation project, a mini-educational farm. This project was undertaken for the benefit of the residents of the Ehpad Le Jardin des Orantes and the long-term care unit.
It was created thanks to the Animhlv du Soleil association for your elders, as well as the allocation of subsidies from the municipality and the CIAS (intercommunal social action center).
Rabbits, dwarf pigs, chickens, ponies…
The funding allowed, over a period of five months, meetings with the animals of Charlotte and Hugues, Horse nounou équitation. These interludes at the bedside of bedridden people, just like the meetings in the structure or in the garden of the accommodation services, were greatly appreciated by the residents and their loved ones.
For this day of September 3, Seiji et Saiga goats, but also Caroline et Augustine turtles, Violette et Verbena dwarf pigs, Josephine, Amber et Britney The ornamental chickens have joined their companions, bringing surprise and joy to our residents.
A day of discovery for some, of reunion for others, around caresses and cuddles. Explanatory sheets on each species allowed us to learn a little more about their character, their natural environment and their diet. In addition to the residents, the mini-farm received visits from agents, students, visitors or passers-by intrigued by the gathering.
The weather was also favorable for the day to go wonderfully and let’s hope that this adventure can continue in 2025.
