BOLOGNA Know if you are positive for Covid-19 in a quarter of an hour from the swab. The fight against Coronavirus in Emilia-Romagna can count on a new tool: the distribution of almost one million rapid antigenic swabs, capable of providing a result, has begun, and will be completed for most of the supply by the end of next week in about 15 minutes. And it is only the first batch of a total supply approaching 2 million tests.
The goal is to be able to circumscribe, and therefore contain, in an even more effective and faster way the spread of the infection: among the intended uses there will be checks on the close contacts of the positives for the closure, after 10 days, of the quarantine, the screening. at school in the event of a positive outcome, checks on patients entering the emergency room; and again, in social and health structures such as the Cra, for the periodic screening of operators and guests and for visitors, as well as for epidemiological investigations on the professional categories or age groups most at risk. In addition, for tests on travelers arriving at Bologna Marconi airport.
The Employment Pact will also be involved in this great control campaign: 250,000 quick swabs will in fact be provided to employers signing the agreement with the Region, who will have the opportunity to have the test carried out at their own expense, as regards execution costs, in accredited health facilities.

Today we are fielding nearly 2 million swabs, a number that exceeds the total of tests of this kind carried out so far since the beginning of the pandemic. A further acceleration of the epidemiological investigation that will allow us to further increase safety in schools, workplaces, social and health structures. An effort, that of strengthening the capacity to investigate and carry out checks, which will allow us to further increase security in many places vital for the entire regional community ”.
“The strong collaboration with a growth instrument such as the Pact for work is also significant – add Bonaccini and Donini -: the production fabric of Emilia-Romagna has made itself available to commit itself at the forefront, and at its own expense, to contain of the virus, and this example of great co-responsibility was not at all obvious ”.
There are two supply channels for rapid tampons that will be distributed in Emilia-Romagna, in total 1,865,550: 44,880 are provided by the national commissioner – of which 19,200 arrived at the beginning of November and 25,600 arrive -, the remaining 1,820,750 are the result of the tender that the Emilia-Romagna Region has launched together with the Veneto Region; of these, 970,000 are already in distribution.
The first supply of tampons guaranteed by the Government was evenly divided among the 8 Health Trusts, which each received 2,400; the tests obtained through tender will instead be assigned to the territories according to a distribution that takes into account the resident population and the different needs.
