A Message to the Governor is an Egyptian film produced in 1998, starring Adel Imam, Yousra, Alaa Wali El Din, and Alaa Morsi, directed by Nader Jalal and written by Bassam Ismail.

Harfoush bin Barquq Al-Rakibdar (Adel Imam) goes with a message to the governor to send supplies to the besieged city of Rashid by the British. On the way, he meets Hakim Rouhani, who sends him to Cairo in the twentieth century, to start a series of paradoxes and adventures, and to witness the country’s deterioration despite Rashid’s victory.

With that time jump of nearly two centuries, Harfoush explores the modern world and is accused of madness, but he trusts the mission for which he came, which is to deliver the message to the governor, Muhammad Ali Pasha, in the Cairo Citadel.
