A message came to the world from 10 million miles away

According to the statement made by NASA, a message sent to Earth from space by laser from 10 million miles away is of vital importance for deep space missions.

According to the statement made by NASA officials, a message was sent to the world from space with a laser beam and traveled 10 million miles.

The Psyche spacecraft carrying NASA’s Deep Space Optical Communications (DSOC) experiment broke new ground by beaming a laser message to Earth from beyond the Moon. Positioned at a distance of 16 million kilometers, approximately 40 times further from the Moon, DSOC has been considered a ‘technology demonstration’ aimed at improving data transmission for two years.

In its first laser beam on November 14, DSOC used a laser transceiver to send a near-infrared laser along with test data to the Caltech Palomar Observatory in California. Led by NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, this achievement lays the groundwork for higher data-rate communications that will be vital for future deep space missions, including human exploration of Mars.

NASA Headquarters Technology Demonstrations Director Trudy Kortes said in a statement: “Achieving first light will be one of DSOC’s many critical milestones in the coming months, paving the way for higher data-rate communications that can send scientific information, high-resolution images and streaming video to support humanity’s next giant leap: sending humans to Mars.”

It was stated that this message represents a significant leap in space communication capabilities and may offer opportunities for more advanced and efficient data exchange in future space exploration studies.
