The memorandum of understanding was signed on December 19 between the Minister Delegate of the President of the Transition in charge of the Interior and his counterpart from Congo-Brazzaville, Raymond Zéphirin Mboulou.
The road to cross-border dessert » which will be built goes Ekata in the department of Zadié (Ogooué-Ivindo) to Bekongo in the district of Mbomo, Olloba zone department of Cuvette Ouest (Congo).
The work will be carried out by the Gabonese company called Global Mine Development (GMD). This road will allow the Global Mine Development Company to carry out mining exploration and exploitation operations on Gabonese territory.
According to an official government press release, relayed on the Gabon Actu website “This road will also constitute a strategic axis for the economic, social and cultural development of our two countries by facilitating trade, migratory flows, tourism, scientific cooperation and environmental preservation,” indicates an official press release.
