HOUSTON – A member of the Tren de Aragua (TdA) gang was arrested on Monday, October 7, by special agents of the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) in Houston, according to state authorities.
Jorgenys Robertson Cova, 32, was taken into custody after a DPS operation in collaboration with the Houston Police Department and the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
The undocumented immigrant from Venezuela was arrested after a special agent assigned to the Houston Anti-Gang Center was notified that a suspected TdA member was living in this area in late September.
Further investigation revealed that Cova was wanted for robbery in Pearland.

Over the course of the investigation, detectives observed tattoos on the man’s arms including a five-pointed crown and a clock and roses, all well-known marks among the gang with which he is associated.
The suspect was scheduled for an asylum hearing in Houston on October 7 when he was detained without incident and booked into the Brazoria County Jail.
The governor of Texas has classified this gang as an international threat and is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the identification and arrest of known or suspected TdA members.
According to the governor, they may be involved in criminal activities and represent a growing danger to the public safety of Texans.
