A meeting that changed Africa

150 years ago the journalist Henry Morton Stanley tracked down the lost Africa explorer David Livingstone on Lake Tanganyika. The meeting made headlines around the world – and was one of the decisive factors for the fate of Central Africa.

After 286 days, Henry Morton Stanley meets the missing Africa explorer David Livingstone on November 10, 1871. At the place of the meeting, Ujiji in today’s Tanzania, this statue of the two men stands today.
