Russian President Vladimir Putin convened a meeting of the Security Council on Monday to consider a request to recognize a self-proclaimed republic of eastern Ukraine in a Moscow-backed militant gang.

Earlier, televised speeches by the leaders of the so-called Donetsk and Lugansk republics called on Putin to recognize them as “independent states” and sign military aid agreements with them to protect them from “Ukrainian aggression.”

The Russian State Duma also reportedly passed a resolution last week calling on Putin to recognize the “independence” of the occupied territories of Ukraine.

“Our goal is to listen to our colleagues and decide on our next steps in this direction, bearing in mind the demands of both the DNA and LNR leaders for recognition of their independence,” the Kremlin host said at the opening of the Security Council.

At the same time, Putin said that he no longer saw any possibility of implementing the so-called Minsk agreement to end the war between Ukraine and the pro-Russian militant gangs.

Russia has concentrated more than 150,000 troops on Ukraine’s borders, raising fears that Putin has made the final decision to invade Ukraine.

The situation in eastern Ukraine has also escalated in recent days, with Russian-backed militant gangs accusing Ukraine of attacking and organizing sabotage.

Ukraine denies these allegations and considers them provocative to invoke Russian troops.

Several thousand people have been deported to Russia from areas controlled by pro-Russian militant gangs, who Moscow has called “refugees.”

Meanwhile, the so-called republics have announced mobilization.

The so-called Security Council meeting, which is now allegedly broadcast live on television, is an obvious production in which senior state officials make previously prepared propaganda speeches aimed at justifying Moscow’s further aggressive actions against Ukraine.

According to the independent television channel “Dozhj”, the watch of Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shogi showed his watch at 12:47, which suggests that the alleged sitting was actually recorded five hours ago.
