During the comprehensive meeting held between the ministers, opinions were exchanged on the current agenda of cooperation between the two countries, as well as regional and international security issues.
During the meeting, the current situation and realities in the region in the post-conflict period, the large-scale restoration and construction works carried out in the territories freed from occupation, the mine threat that hinders this activity, the efforts of our country in the direction of advancing the normalization and peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia, and the current challenges in this direction were brought to the attention of the other party. delivered.
It was stated that the anti-terrorist measures carried out in the Karabakh region on September 19-20 of this year were directed against the threat of illegal Armenian armed forces raised by our country before the international community on a permanent basis. As a result of the measures taken, it has been brought to attention that the scale of the terrible militarization in our sovereign territories is once again clear.
As confirmed by representatives of international organizations who visited the region for the first time in the last 30 years, there was no violence against civilians, and the reason why Armenian residents left the region voluntarily was the propaganda of the illegal regime in our territories about the impossibility of coexistence of Azerbaijanis and Armenians, as well as Azerbaijan It was emphasized that the results of the meetings between representatives of the government and representatives of Armenian residents were not communicated to them.
In this direction, it was emphasized that the responsibility for the influx of Armenian residents leaving our territories is not on Azerbaijan, but on Armenia, which makes unstable statements.
In spite of all this, it was noted that the unfair position exhibited against our country in recent times is regrettable and surprising, and the inadmissibility of showing a selective approach in relation to the main principles of international law, including principles such as territorial integrity and sovereignty, was noted.
