Following the severe earthquake in the Marrakesh region on Friday night, which claimed the lives of over 1,000 people and left hundreds of injured and thousands homeless, a medical delegation will leave Saturday night to provide critical medical aid – physical and mental – to the affected population.
The Natan organization, which has specialized for two decades in providing humanitarian aid to humanity in global disasters, will take out the delegation. The first team, which includes doctors, nurses and a crisis assessment specialist, is ready to leave immediately. Their mission will be to work with the local teams, contributing their expertise and experience, to provide immediate assistance where the greatest need is found.
The organization was staffed by volunteer doctors who are experts in various fields of medicine as well as in trauma in crisis situations. These volunteer doctors have accumulated many hours of experience in natural disasters and man-made disasters around the globe. For example, in medical expeditions sent out by the Natan organization during the earthquake in Turkey, before that in Haiti, and in the treatment of war refugees who escaped from Ukraine in 2022.
