Yesterday Friday, the Mauritanian Football Federation (FFRIM) proudly announced that the African Football Confederation (CAF) had entrusted the whistle to Dahane Beida for this poster.

The other Mauritanian whistleblower, Abdel Aziz Bouh, was among the referees who officiated during the semi-finals of the tournament. The performance of the two representatives of Mauritanian refereeing was widely praised throughout this CAN 2023“, enjoyed the FFRIM.
During this CAN, Dahane Beida officiated during the group match between Egypt and Mozambique (2-2; 4 yellow cards distributed) and during the round of 16 between Angola and Namibia (3-0 ; 2 yellow cards and 2 red cards, including a direct expulsion). The 32-year-old had already been at work during CAN 2021 by refereeing during the group stage of Malawi-Zimbabwe (2-1) and Gabon-Morocco (2-2).
