The Tenerife City Council of Guía de Isora has regretted what happened at a funeral held on Monday, May 25, where A number of people much higher than 15 attended -which allows the ministerial decree for open-air funerals-, they did not keep a safe distance and did not wear masks that, remember, it is mandatory in all public spaces as long as a social distance of two meters cannot be maintained.
The Tenerife consistory, through a statement, has apologized for what happened and recalls that it was allowed “the accompaniment of the coffin provided that the regulations required by Phase 2 were met.”
An image that for the director of the Canary Islands Health Service, Antonio Olivera, “puts the image of the Canary Islands at risk” and adds that it is clearly “a bad example” for society.
