Today, May 1, on the central square of Osh, within the framework of the International Day of Workers, a march of labor collectives of city and municipal enterprises, institutions, services and organizations, higher educational institutions took place. This was reported by the press service of the mayor’s office of the southern capital.
The participants marched from the memorial complex “Eternal Flame” through the central square of the city to the Osh National Drama Theater named after S. Ibraimov, where the city department of culture organized a festive concert program.

Recall that today, May 1, in the Kyrgyz Republic, according to the Labor Code, the official day off is Labor Day.
Since Soviet times, it has been called the Day of International Solidarity of Workers. For the first time, May 1 was officially celebrated in the Soviet Union in 1917. Two years later, Workers’ Solidarity Day was recognized in Kyrgyzstan. And May Day demonstrations have become a tradition for all Soviet citizens.
In 1928, by decree of the All-Russian Central Executive Committee of the Council of People’s Commissars of the RSFSR, May 1 and 2 became days off.
