Giza Governorate revealed a reduction in pumping drinking water In a number of areas to implement the project of converting the exposed Nahia drain into an alternative covered path, to eliminate one of the largest sources of pollution in the areas of Boulaq al-Dakrour, Al-Motamdia and Nahia in Kardasa, and to improve the environment for the people of those areas, and then backfill it to create an alternative traffic corridor to improve traffic in the region.

explained Giza The project works require taking a number of executive measures, as follows:

First: Reducing the level of water pumping at night for the areas of Boulaq al-Dakrour and the eastern and western urban areas, Sunday, 1/29/2023, from 12:00 p.m. until 10:00 a.m. on Monday, corresponding to 1/30/2023.

Second: Cutting off water to the eastern and western Bulaq al-Dakrour and Al-Omraniya areas from 10 am on Monday, corresponding to 1/30/2023 until 10 pm Monday.

Major General Ahmed Rashid, Governor of Giza, instructed the executing authorities to complete the implementation work according to the specified timetable and work to shorten it and not exceed it, directing the heads of the Bulaq Al-Dakrour and Al-Omraniya neighborhoods to follow up and coordinate with the concerned agencies to take the necessary measures in this regard and remove any obstacles that would affect the specified timings.

And the Giza Governorate called on citizens living in the aforementioned areas, as well as bakeries, hospitals and service sectors, to store their drinking water needs during a period of low pressure or interruption, pointing out that the Drinking Water and Wastewater Company will provide cars loaded with clean, drinkable water to move to manage the needs of citizens upon requesting an emergency number. 125.
