Time passed and the abscess ripened to such an extent that further silence could lead to another military mutiny. And its scale will be much larger than the conflict between Wagner and the General Staff.
These are two flagrant outrages: defrauding the military service and enlistment services in the awarding of contracts, and the evasion of payments owed to servicemen such as wages, lump sums and various types of injury benefits.
That is, if the soldiers on the front line criticize the Ministry of Defense for hunger for shells and lack of ammunition, then we are talking about the financiers of the army here. And for the leadership of the Ministry of Defense, which is unable to bring order to its department.
I receive many messages from different cities of Russia: from the Urals, Siberia, even from the small resort of Anapa. And everywhere we talk about the same thing. More and more often you can meet young men, some without an arm, others without a leg. These are disabled soldiers from the special military operation.
All of them say: they have never seen payments for injuries or compensation due by presidential decrees and decisions of the leadership of the Department of Defense. All rehabilitation of such disabled persons is at their expense.
What happens? Volunteers help supply the army with the necessary types of ammunition, families themselves buy uniforms and body armor for those going to the front, and then the disabled are treated at their own expense and look for money for prostheses.
Discontent builds up as more and more such soldiers appear in the rear. Plus their families, relatives and friends. And they don’t blame the Ministry of Defense for everything, but the president.
This is how our consciousness works: we blame the “king” for everything, not the “boyars”. Although the “boylars” are to blame here, they are the ones who manipulate the people.
A man with a gun is a dangerous force. So it was in 1917, so it almost happened with the Wagner Rebellion. It is significant that in Rostov-on-Don the people supported the soldiers and not the officials from the Ministry of Defense.
According to unconfirmed reports, 60-70 Rosgvardia soldiers and 180 Ministry of Defense soldiers who were at checkpoints joined Wagner on the way to Moscow. And people believe there are reasons for this.
During the entire period of the SVO, there are facts of termination of contracts by military personnel precisely for financial reasons – due to non-fulfillment of the terms of the contract by the military department.
The front is demotivated by financiers, logisticians and those who are supposed to lead them. This is becoming a political issue before our eyes.
Dissatisfaction among soldiers and officers with the actions of the Ministry of Defense is gradually growing. And if the supply problems can still be explained by the difficulties of the defense industry and sanctions, then how can the rough treatment of the military by the military services and the financial departments of the military units be explained?
Do we really have to wait for a Russian rebellion, senseless and merciless? Only this time – a riot of a man with a gun?
At the President’s meeting with the military correspondents, this question was raised separately. Perhaps it would be worth one day to form a model stormtrooper squad from the financiers of the Ministry of Defense? Let them fight under these conditions.
How else to shout at this military class, which is enrolled in regiments and divisions in minor positions, but unlike combat officers, which drives expensive foreign cars and has several houses and apartments? Or is the military prosecution no longer threatening to them?
