A man is on the verge of death after he was struck by a hit-and-run driver while crossing the FDR Drive early Saturday morningthe authorities reported.
This was the second time in two months that someone was hit while trying to cross the East Side Highway on foot. pointed out the New York Police Department (NYPD).
The victim was attempting to cross the southbound lanes between the Houston St. and Grand St./Williamsburg Bridge exits. around 3:30 in the morning, when a passing white sedan hit himofficials said.
Rescuers found the man on the asphalt with serious injuries to his head and body.
Apart from, Emergency services rushed him to Bellevue Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition Saturday morning.
The man behind the wheel of the white sedan did not stopsaid the representatives. A search for the driver was launched on Saturday, he said. Daily News.

On June 25, Mary Rowell, 31, was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver as she crossed the FDR Drive near Houston St.near where the man had been run over.
Rowell, 31, was taken home from East River Park around 12:15 am.
Her relatives believe construction signs led her into oncoming traffic on the highway instead of a pedestrian walkway.
