The incident happened in Chlumec nad Cidlinou, on line number 020 in the direction of Velký Osek – Hradec Králové. České dráhy stated that traffic on the track was stopped. “A train collided with a person on the spot, it was not an accident,” confirmed police spokeswoman Karolína Macháčková. It was a man, the circumstances of the incident are being investigated by the police.
Firefighters also rushed to the scene to help transport the passengers. “We are helping to secure the site of the incident and evacuate passengers from the train. An evacuation bus from the central station was sent to the scene from Hradec Králové, the HZS Nový Bydžov unit, the JSDH Chlumec nad Cidlinou and the Railway Administration unit also intervened,” they said on the X social network.
Traffic on the track was completely interrupted. “We recommend that passengers use alternative bus transport in the section Chlumec nad Cidlinou – Nově Město nad Cidlinou,” České dráhy added.
