A man was arrested at Chartres station as part of a European identity check operation

On the morning of Tuesday 8 November a man was arrested at Chartres station during a European identity check operation by various security forces. He was the subject of a search in a judicial context.

The man was arrested by police at Chartres Police Station pending a court decision.

Operation “Railway Action Day”

This enhanced police control at Chartres station was carried out in the framework of a European operation, called “24 RAD BLUE” (Rail Action Day blue rail, or a day of blue rail action, ed). This 24th edition, involving 19 European countries, started on November 8th at 7:00 am and will end on November 9th at 7:00 am.

In Chartres, the system put in place in stations and on the tracks, including the railway, national and municipal police, consists in combating illegal immigration, aggravated theft, damage, fraud and the transport and use of drugs. At Chartres station, crime increased by 30%.
