On Monday, October 26, in Jelgava, a fifty-year-old man stole a leaf blower from his nose under the influence of a nursery, but law enforcement officers operatively detained the culprit, reports the program “Degpunkta”.
Using a leaf blower, the woman worked hard in the yard of the second house on Uzvaras Street in Jelgava. In order to collect the fallen tree leaves together faster, the woman had bought a leaf blower worth 200 euros.
Meanwhile, the man had noticed a strange thing – a leaf blower “Echo” – under the influence, until he got the courage and almost stole it from her nose, then sell it on the market.
However, the man’s plans were thwarted by the local police patrol – the woman had noticed the possible culprit and immediately contacted the law enforcement officers of the Jelgava district of the Zemgale Regional Office of the State Police to report the theft. The police officers initiated criminal proceedings, as well as informed the Jelgava municipal police about the incident.
Shortly after the commission of the crime, thanks to the attention of the police officers of Jelgava municipality, the man with whom the illegally appropriated garden equipment was found was detained in the center of Jelgava. Although the patrol quickly caught the culprit, but empty-handed. The thief had managed to hide the machine. The thief took the law enforcement officers to a house on Pasta Street, where he climbed to the attic floor. The leaf blower was intact.
Municipal police detained the alleged garnadze, handed him over to the State Police, and recovered the stolen leaf blower, which was handed over to its rightful owner on the same day.
The detained man, born in 1969, has previously come to the attention of the police for committing crimes of a similar nature.
The criminal proceedings, which were initiated for a small theft, were transferred to the Jelgava Prosecutor’s Office on October 27. The commission of such a crime may be punishable by imprisonment for a term of up to one year or by temporary deprivation of liberty, or by forced labor, or by a fine.
