A man throws himself under a train in Orange, the traffic at a standstill

A 23-year-old young man threw himself under a train on Tuesday afternoon around 3:30 p.m., in Orange station. According to witnesses, he was on the platform when he jumped under the vehicle. He did not die instantly, but the emergency services were unable to resuscitate him. TER traffic is at a standstill between Avignon and Valence.

The train the man threw himself under carried cargo and no passengers. Two trains have already been diverted by the right bank of the Rhône. According to the SNCF, traffic should resume around 6:30 p.m., while the investigation is finished.
